About World’s Largest Pistachio
Just north of Alamogordo, a 30-foot pistachio rises beside a real pistachio orchard. The fiberglass monument was built by Timothy McGinn in memory of his father Thomas, who turned desert acreage into the farm now known as PistachioLand.
It is exactly the kind of oversized, oddly specific landmark a road trip needs. You can stop for a photo without taking the farm tour, then peek at the orchard and shop if they are open. The giant nut is hard to miss from the highway.
