About Wolf Park
Outside the small town of Battle Ground, Wolf Park has studied wolf behavior and shared what it learns with the public since the 1970s. The nonprofit property is neither a conventional zoo nor a casual roadside menagerie. Its animals serve as ambassadors in programs built around behavior, ecology, and coexistence.
Guided tours move through the park’s habitats and introduce wolves along with foxes, bison, and other residents. The experience is carefully managed, but hearing a group howl at close range can make the Indiana landscape feel suddenly much wilder. Special programs and seasonal events offer different ways to observe the animals, while the park’s research history adds substance beyond the spectacle.
Advance reservations are recommended because tours can sell out and day-of access may be limited. Buildings have ramps, accessible restrooms are available, and benches line the generally flat gravel paths. Wet gravel can be difficult for wheelchairs and strollers, but complimentary golf-cart assistance may be arranged with advance notice.
