Picklesburgh

Downtown Pittsburgh turns pickle-crazy with briny foods, pickle drinks, vendors, contests and the giant Heinz pickle balloon above the festival.

Picklesburgh has filled downtown Pittsburgh with pickle-themed food and entertainment since 2015. The festival expands far beyond ordinary cucumber pickles, with vendors using brine and pickled ingredients in snacks, meals, desserts and drinks while the giant Heinz pickle balloon serves as its most recognizable visual landmark.

Visitors can browse food and merchandise vendors, watch entertainment and contests, and sample creations spread across bridges, riverfront spaces and downtown plazas. The public festival does not require tickets and general admission is free. Because its footprint changes as attendance grows, Market Square is used here as one documented central hub rather than implying the entire festival occupies a single venue.
