The National Cornbread Festival turns South Pittsburg into a celebration of one of the South’s most familiar foods. Cornbread is treated as both tradition and competition, with cooks putting their own spins on skillet recipes while visitors get opportunities to sample different versions and learn about regional foodways.
Festival attractions include cooking competitions, Cornbread Alley tastings, live entertainment, vendors, family activities and food throughout the downtown area. The event is traditionally held during the last full weekend of April. Current admission for the next edition had not been published at verification, so visitors should check the organizer rather than relying on the previous year’s ticket price.
