Cawker City’s famous ball of sisal twine is not treated as a finished roadside object. During the annual Twine-A-Thon, visitors help add more twine to the community-built attraction, extending a local tradition that has made the giant ball the town’s best-known landmark.
The Twine-A-Thon is paired with the Cawker City Picnic, which brings food and community events to City Park. Activities change from year to year, so visitors should confirm the current schedule with the town before making travel plans.
