Circleville has staged its Pumpkin Show since 1903, building a downtown tradition around the agricultural harvest and especially enormous pumpkins. The show is famous for giant-pumpkin competition, displays of pumpkins, squash and gourds, and storefronts and food stands that push the pumpkin theme far beyond ordinary pie.
Multiple parades, rides, entertainment, exhibits and pumpkin-flavored foods fill downtown streets over four days. General admission remains free, while rides, food and purchases are separate. The show follows a recurring schedule beginning on the third Wednesday of October and continuing through Saturday, making the month predictable even before the organizer posts the next year’s full program.
