The Hudson Valley Garlic Festival brings garlic growers, chefs, artisans and food vendors together during the regional harvest season. Garlic appears in familiar savory dishes as well as stranger creations, while educational programming gives growers and cooks a place to discuss varieties, cultivation and ways to use the pungent bulb.
Visitors can browse craft booths, hear live entertainment, attend demonstrations and talks, sample garlic-heavy foods and watch changing contests and activities. The Kiwanis Club of Saugerties organizes the event and uses proceeds to support community programs. Cantine Field and the surrounding complex serve as the festival grounds for the two-day gathering.
