The festival is built around the Kecksburg UFO incident of December 1965, when witnesses reported a fireball and later described an unusual acorn-shaped object in the area. The story became one of Pennsylvania’s most persistent UFO legends and remains closely associated with the volunteer fire department.
The three-day festival combines paranormal conference programming with a community fundraiser. Visitors can find UFO, Bigfoot and paranormal speakers, researchers, vendors, live music, food, a parade and the event’s distinctive UFO-themed bed race. Proceeds support the Kecksburg Volunteer Fire Department, which hosts the festival on its grounds.
