The Albatwitch is a regional folklore creature described as a small, hairy, humanlike figure with an appetite for apples, a trait reflected in the nickname “apple-snitch.” Albatwitch Day turns that local story into a gathering for people interested in cryptids, paranormal tales and unusual Susquehanna River folklore.
The festival has featured guest speakers, live music, food, unusual vendors and other themed activities, with proceeds supporting historic-preservation work. In 2026, Albatwitch Day is being held at Riverfront Park in Wrightsville. It is separate from the newly named Albatwitch Harvest Festival held two weeks earlier across the river in Columbia.
