About Dinosaur Land

Dinosaur Land has been keeping the classic American roadside dinosaur alive in Virginia for generations. More than fifty large prehistoric creatures stand along a wooded walking path near White Post, joined by enough oversized animals and monsters to make scientific consistency unnecessary.

The figures are not sleek modern animatronics. They are brightly painted, old-school roadside sculptures designed to be seen, photographed, and remembered. Visitors encounter familiar dinosaurs alongside creatures from other prehistoric periods, while the entrance itself surrounds the Dinosaur Land sign with a megalodon, saber-toothed cat, octopus, and dinosaur.

The park has expanded over the years rather than replacing its vintage personality. Dinosaur Land says eighteen additional dinosaurs have joined the collection during the past twenty-five years. The attraction remains a walk-through experience, with a paved path carrying visitors from one huge creature to the next.

There are newer dinosaur attractions with moving jaws, computer effects, and scientifically updated feathers. Dinosaur Land offers something different: a surviving roadside world where enormous painted beasts still stand among the trees and wait for passing families to pull off the highway.
