About Edison Light Bulb Tower
In a quiet Edison park, a tall Art Deco monument ends in an enormous glowing light bulb. The Thomas Alva Edison Memorial Tower marks the site of Menlo Park, where Edison ran his invention laboratory and helped make electric light practical.
The present tower dates to 1937. Its oversized bulb is wonderfully literal: a monument to invention that looks like the idea itself. You can see the exterior from the park, while entry to the tower and adjacent museum is by guided tour. Reserve ahead and check current hours before making the trip.
